The Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions SAK will stage a political rally on Friday 2 February to oppose the Government’s new unemployment benefit scheme. Joining the action are the Transport Workers’ Union AKT and the Finnish Construction Trade Union.

According to the information currently available, the Linkki buses of Jyväskylä Region Public Transport will stop running as of 03.00 on Friday morning February 2nd. The rally will not affect Linkki-Vip services in Jyväskylä. Linkki-VIP buses will operate according to the regular timetable on February 2nd. Timetables are available at Similarly, taxi services to day, work and activity centres will operate according to normal timetables.

Applications for compensation (season ticket users) - reception ended on February 16th

Irrespective of the fact that the disruptions are unrelated to the public transport operator, Jyväskylä Region Public Transport will reimburse season ticket holders for any loss incurred. Season ticket holders with a valid ticket for Friday February 2nd received a 24-hour-ticket in compensation. The ticket is good for travel for 24 hours in the same travel zones that the season ticket is valid for. Season ticket holders needed to file a written application for compensation until 16 February at the Linkki service outlet (Asemakatu 7).
