Residents of Jyväskylä are welcome to family centre network meetings

The family centre networks are available for families with children in ten residential areas in Jyväskylä. The networks are places where you can discuss things such as the recreational oppor-tunities available for children and young people in the area. The residents of the area concerned are welcome to participate in various events and activities.

The family centre network meetings are attended by persons representing the city, the local par-ish, companies, organizations and residents who work with children, young people and families. The aim of the family centre networks is to bring together all those who work with families with children in the area, combine forces and expertise, support families with children, listen to the res-idents and provide services that meet the needs of residents in the area.

Things discussed include the recreational opportunities and facilities for children and young people in the area

The family centre networks have discussed, among other things, the recreational and exercise opportunities as well as meeting places for children and young people.

“For example, those involved in the Keljonkangas-Säynätsalo network have worked together to provide recreational facilities for children and young people. In Vaajakoski, the issues most dis-cussed have included the use of the sports field and available exercise opportunities. The sale of energy drinks to minors has also been a concern in Vaajakoski, and related discussions with Vaajakoski retailers have been started,” says Service Manager Piritta Jetsu from the early inter-vention services of the City of Jyväskylä.
