Traffic research begins in the Jyväskylä region

A large-scale traffic research is beginning in the Jyväskylä region. The aim of the project is to get in-formation about inhabitants´ daily trips and travelling related choices. About 7 200 inhabitants of the region will be interviewed for the research during September.

The research results are used in updating the local traffic planning background information system. The Jyväskylä region has grown significantly and travelling habits have changed a lot since the re-search material was gathered last time in 1989. The study is carried out by Tampere University of Technology, Destia Oy and Innolink Research Oy on the request of municipalities in the Jyväskylä region, Central Finland Road Administration and Regional Council of Central Finland.
