More new material and popular network database

Last year almost 47 percent of the citizens of the City of Jyväskylä were registered as borrowers at the Jyväskylä City Library – Regional Library of Central Finland. In December the City Library opened an updated website in English:

The clients borrowed library material more than 2,1 million times which means 24,9 loans per citizen – 1,2 percent less than in the year 2007. Last year’s statistics prove that every citizen visited the City Library 10 times.

The City Library acquired 28,4 percent more books than in the year before, mostly due to the new Kuokkala Library, which was opened in September.

The Aalto Library Network proved to be still very popular: even 32,8 percent more of the clients used the network for information retrieval, renewing loans and making reservations for the material.
